Service Description

Myo-Manipulative Functional Therapy literally means making changes in the muscles to achieve proper function. This is a form of sports massage that rather than just focusing on the massage techniques, it also addresses physical therapies/exercises. MFT can further improve the animal’s function and ability to perform at an optimal level. Equine Sports Massage is a form of massage therapy that focuses on equine athletes, allowing them to perform optimally and reduce the chance of injury by maximizing range of motion and decreasing muscular restrictions. Horse athletes are often times asked to perform maneuvers that can cause repetitive stress injuries. Like human athletes, they can benefit from maintenance bodywork as well as recovery treatments. This session could include multiple modalities of physiotherapy depending on the specific needs of your individual horse. Add-on services may be required with consent from the owner. A program is customized with a number of recommended sessions and treatments following the physical assessment. Note: If your horse suffers from chronic pain, injuries, or is recovering from surgery, a veterinary referral is necessary before scheduling sessions. Kindly provide a medical history of your horse for our records. A pen/work area may be required for therapy sessions. Price includes venue visit and travel fees. A discount may be applicable and further discounts for multiple pets.
